Sale price Price $49.00 Regular price

Handcrafted Traditional Sombrero Charro Made in Jalisco, Mexico.

Traditional Charro sombreros are used by Mariachis, folk musicians, who wear matching outfits with embroidery, beading, and gold threads. They are also used by charros, a traditional horseman from Mexico. Sombreros are part of many cultural and traditional dances, such as Jarabe Tapatío. Sombreros like these are made with contrasting colors (like black and gold) and are intended to be shiny and elegant to contrast the occasion for which they are used. The quality of the hat is also an indication of social class and skills. For example, a charro who is highly skilled will be able to own a more detailed and high quality suit and sombrero. In the same way, a mariachi will use its fancier suit/sombrero to important events such as quinceañeras, weddings, etc.

It is said that the best way to show a women your love is by taking off your hat and throwing it on the floor to her feet, letting her know that your most valued possession is theirs.
