Rosa, a native of the Guerrero town of San Agustín Oapan, has been immersed in the world of arts and crafts since her childhood. At the tender age of 12, she began her artistic journey, painting on clay pieces and amate paper, a passion that has continued to flourish for the past 18 years.
Rosa's artistic heritage runs deep, as her father was the first in the family to take up painting on clay pieces. Inspired by his mother's encouragement, Rosa's father expanded his artistic horizons, venturing into the intricate world of amate paper painting. This artistic legacy has been passed down to Rosa and her two siblings, who have joined forces to create a family-run arts and crafts collective.
For Rosa and her siblings, art and craftsmanship are not just hobbies; they are the very foundation of their livelihood. Inspired by their father's pioneering spirit, they have embraced the tradition, each contributing their unique talents and skills to their collective craft. Together, they continue to preserve and honor the rich artistic heritage of San Agustín Oapan, ensuring that their legacy of creativity will continue to thrive for generations to come.
