Colectivo Develun
A LINEAGE OF CULTURAL AND SPIRITUAL BEESWAX CREATIONS

In the heart of Teotitlán del Valle, Oaxaca, Colectivo Develun brings to life the luminous beauty of beeswax candles, handcrafted with devotion and ancestral knowledge. Founded by Itze Álvarez and her sister Martiza Álvarez, the collective was born from their shared vision to preserve the Zapotec community’s traditions, cultural ceremonies, and spiritual practices.
Each candle is created through a patient, layered process, with delicate wax flowers applied one by one, transforming each piece into a radiant work of art. This meticulous craft blends creativity and heritage, reflecting the deep roots of Teotitlán del Valle and the stories of generations who came before.
The sisters continually innovate, exploring new designs while honoring their familial lineage and the sacred rituals that inspire their work. Every candle is more than decoration—it is a treasured heirloom, carrying the warmth of tradition, the precision of artisanal care, and the illuminating visions and spirits of Oaxaca’s living culture.
