Colectivo Textil Oaxaqueña
WEAVING OFFERINGS AND COMMUNITY THROUGH SHARING OAXACA’ SOUL

From the beautiful mountains of La Sierra Sur de Oaxaca de Juárez, Colectivo Textil Oaxaquena carries the rhythm of the pedal loom like a heartbeat echoing through generations. For more than eight years, this collective has continued to create stories of cultural pride in every thread.
At fourteen years old, learning side by side with elders and community workshops who protect the knowledge of the art of the pedal loom. From learning some of the most basic tasks to mastering intricate weaving techniques, each step of their learning journey became part of their formation. Slowly blossoming into the creation of their own workshop, a sacred space built with hope, resilience, and the dream of sharing Oaxaqueña textile heritage with the world.
Today, four skilled hands guide the process with harmony and dedication. Each artisan embraces a role — sewing, cutting, embroidering, or weaving at the pedal loom. Nearly a dozen steps shape each piece, but one of the most essential lies in composing the loom itself: organizing the threads, aligning the textiles, and placing each strand in perfect order. It is a ritual of patience, precision, and devotion — a quiet conversation between artisan and fiber.
Colectivo Textil Oaxaqueña weaves their identity, love for their land and imagination. Reflecting the spirit of their community through vibrant and bold colors, patterns, and textile wonders. They believe in honest work, in shared knowledge, and in the beauty of learning from one another wherever life may lead them.
