Colectivo Fiesta Mexicana
THE SPIRIT OF MEXICAN PAPER FOLK ART

Rooted in the spirited traditions of Puebla, Mexico, Colectivo Fiesta Mexicana devotes their craft and practice to the time-honored art of papel picado— a delicate expression of celebration, memory, and joy woven into Mexican culture.
Papel picado is a beloved Mexican folk art created by carefully cutting intricate patterns into fine tissue paper. With designs reflecting the spirit of various festivities— weddings, birthdays, or the deeply meaningful Dia de Muertos. For generations, these colorful banners have fluttered above streets, altars, and family gatherings, carrying stories in every cut and curve.
Colectivo Fiesta Mexicana continues this legacy, through rectangular pieces of multicolored tissue paper, intricately cut and thoughtfully strung together, separated by delicate lengths of thread that allow the papel to dance freely in the air. Every pattern is unique, every detail deliberate.
